  • Are reservations required?
    Yes, reservations are required, but we do accept same-day reservations. Check live availability through our Book Now feature.
  • What are the requirements for renting a pontoon?
    The renter and primary driver must be at least 25 years old, possess a valid driver’s license, and complete a signed liability waiver.
  • What does the rental fee include?
    The rental fee includes fuel, a new 40 hp motor, all safety equipment and amenities, including: Capacity for 12 passengers Bluetooth radio & speakers Bimini top for shade Phone charger Anchor
  • Do you have PFDs for all ages?
    We offer a variety of PFD sizes to ensure everyone has a suitable life vest.
  • Who must wear a life jacket?
    Michigan law mandates children under 6 to wear a USCG–approved Type I or II PFD on the open deck of any vessel while underway.
  • Are we allowed on Lake Michigan?
    You're welcome to ride to Lake Michigan, but only when the weather allows. To ensure safety, access to Lake Michigan is typically restricted for all boats on days when the waves exceed 1.5 feet, as reported by local buoys. If the waves are greater than 1.5 feet the trip will be held on the St. Joseph River. Additionally, without consent, our boats are not permitted to travel beyond 2 miles from the St. Joseph lighthouse on Lake Michigan.
  • What is a no-wake zone?
    It's an area where vessels must travel at slow speeds to minimize waves or "wake."
  • Is alcohol allowed on the vessel?
    Alcohol is permitted, but like driving, it's crucial to have a designated driver. Operating a pontoon while impaired is against Michigan law.
  • Where is your dock located and is parking available?
    We are located at Eagle Pointe Harbor Marina. Parking is available, and the dock slip and instructions will be provided upon booking.
  • What’s not allowed on a boat?
    For safety reasons, the following are not permitted: BBQ grills Generators Smoking Fireworks Pets
  • Do we have to fill out any forms?
    Yes, forms will be sent to your email after booking and the renter must sign the liability waiver and charter agreement.
  • What if I don't want to drive the boat but would like to go out for a sunset cruise?
    We can be your Captain! If you're looking to unwind and enjoy the sunset, captained Sunset Cruises are available. Simply reach out to us for pricing and availability.
  • What if the weather doesn’t look good on the day of our rental?
    If your trip is canceled by St. Joseph Boat Rentals due to inclement weather, we will reschedule based on availability. Check our cancellation policy for details.
  • What if Lake Michigan is to rough on our date?
    If Lake Michigan is to rough on your date the trip will be restricted to The St. Joseph River. Rough water is not considered inclement weather and the trip will continue.
  • What is the cancellation policy for boat rentals at St. Joseph Boat?
    At St. Joseph Boat, we understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair and transparent. Any cancellations made 7 days prior to your rental date will receive a 100% refund. For cancellations made after the 7-day mark, a $300 fee will be deducted from your original payment. We encourage all customers to review their plans carefully and contact us as soon as possible if a change is needed. This policy ensures that we can offer availability to other customers and maintain the highest level of service for all our guests.   • Are we handicap accessible?
    We regret to inform you that our boat is not handicap accessible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
