Cancellation Policy

Plans change. St. Joseph Boat Rentals LLC's cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both the renter and the operator.
Free cancellation window
You may cancel your booking for a full refund up to 48 hours before the scheduled rental start time. The refund is processed to the original payment card within 5–10 business days.
Late cancellations
Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the rental start time are subject to:
- 24–48 hours before: 50% refund
- Less than 24 hours before: no refund
Late-cancellation fees support the operator's preparation costs (fuel, dock prep, captain scheduling) and lost-revenue costs (the slot can rarely be re-booked at short notice).
Weather cancellations
If St. Joseph Boat Rentals LLC cancels due to unsafe weather (small craft advisory, lightning within 8 miles, sustained winds above 25 mph at the dock), you receive a full refund OR the option to reschedule at no charge — your choice.
If the renter cancels due to weather forecasts that don't actually materialize, standard cancellation terms above apply.
No-shows
If the renter does not arrive within 30 minutes of the scheduled pickup time without notice, the booking is treated as a no-show with no refund.
Reschedules
Rescheduling is free if requested at least 24 hours before the booking. Last-minute reschedules are subject to availability and may incur a fee equal to the difference in the new slot's price.
Operator cancellations
If St. Joseph Boat Rentals LLC cancels for any reason other than weather (mechanical issue, captain unavailability, etc.), you receive a full refund plus a 10% credit toward a future rental.
How to cancel
To cancel or reschedule, reply to your booking confirmation email or call (269) 313-5336 during business hours. Voicemail counts as notice — leave your booking reference number.
Refund timing
Approved refunds are processed within 24 business hours. Funds typically appear on your card statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
If you don't see the refund after 10 business days, email info@stjosephboatrentals.com with your booking reference and we'll investigate with our payment processor.
